She dabbles in Tanjore paintings, murals and porcelain art. Inspite of her hectic schedule,she even runs an art school called Earth-n-Heaven where she teaches her students ”whatever they are interested in learning as far as art is concerned”. Meet 40 year old Amita Sachdeva who decided to take her art beyond the canvas and bring it alive in elements like stain glass panels, decorative plates, small gift items like boxes ,trays and even coasters which she custom manufactures for interior decorators, corporate clients and even some art stores. ”Though I don’t hold any art related degree except a Diploma in Textile Designing, I was always very keen on it even as a young girl,” says this art entrepreneur. Mostly self taught, Amita believes that those who are able to convert their passion into their profession are the ones who always excel in their chosen field. “Today, I know that it is my talent and my love for art that have helped me move forward in this field apart from hard work, innovative spirit and patience. Another thing that has helped me move over the years is updating my skills regularly. I do this either by reading and trying out new art forms on my own and sometimes even by attending classes and workshops conducted by others. Whatever happens, my motto is never give up.” She says |
