“I watch through the window
As the sun and the shadows throw their beautiful patterns at me
Woven so fine, with scintillating colors
Oh! So beautiful! – I think
And a surge of happiness rises within me,
I watch in awe the unfolding patterns, the colors
And I reach out to touch it..
Oh! I so want to be a part of this pattern
Cloaked in this texture of comfort,
relishing the colors of life,
the dance of the Sun
And the shadows on my window…” |
Amita Sachdeva’s art is about a celebration of life, bringing you closer to nature and human emotions in all its simplicity and serenity. And despite her international exposure, or probably because of it, at the core of all her art firmly lies her Indianness, which seeps through and shows up in the earthy tones, flowers, colourful birds, gracious curves and flows of human figurines. |
